AUSTIN, TX — (CNN) Thousands of personal papers left to the University of Texas by legendary Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee are now being catalogued.

The papers include Bradlee’s thoughts on Watergate, his scolding of TV talk show host Phil Donahue and a heartbreaking letter Bradlee received from Jackie Kennedy shortly after JFK was assassinated.

For Watergate fans, Bradlee’s missives also include his correspondence with publisher Katharine Graham, on whether they should let producers of “All the President’s Men” use their real names in the movie.

And in 1992, the papers reveal, Bradlee wrote to a DC Council member, to support a moratorium on Georgetown liquor licenses. Of the neighborhood’s apparently loose libation policy, Bradlee wrote, “We are drowning.”
