WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The Four Seasons in D.C. will be feeding the city’s public servants a Thanksgiving feast in what has become a tradition for the hotel.

Sixteen-years ago, then General Manager of Four Season Hotel, Chris Hunsberger had an idea: “Thanksgiving on the Mayflower”.

As the hotel served guests and staff meals on the holiday, Hunsberger thought that also serving public servants was just the right thing to do.

The hotel works with the ‘Mayflower’ moving company to serve-up orders to local, public servants in two ways: To-go orders to fire and police stations as well as on-site meals in the Mayflower truck.

There about 150 to-go orders and about 350 on-site meals.

The hotel typically serves between 1,200-1,300 meals on Thanksgiving between the Mayflower, guests and staff.

Four Seasons staff volunteer to help out, even on their days off, for the ‘Thanksgiving on the Mayflower’ event.
