Gas Prices Continue To Fall as Thanksgiving Nears

WASHINGTON — (WMAL) All you might need to fill up your gas tank during this years Thanksgiving travel is a crisp twenty dollar bill.

The national average for a regular gas is $2.14 a gallon, but if your holiday travels take you through Maryland, Patrick DeHann with GasBuddy says you can even find some stations with gas below two dollars, “The states lowest price? $1.93 a gallon.”

Nationally, we are spending $1.7 billion less in gas than we did over the past five years. According to AAA the average price for gas in Virginia is $1.98 a gallon, around $2.30 in New York and Pennsylvania, and can range from $1.89 to $2.10 per gallon in the Midwest.

Over the last month, the national average for gas prices has decreased 8.6 cents per gallon.
