LISTEN: Private Investigator ROD WHEELER Sticks With Original Story Connecting DNC Staffer Seth Rich to Wikileaks: There is an Underground Culture of Corruption in this City

Listen as Larry spoke with private investigator Rod Wheeler regarding new details suggesting Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich had contact with Wikileaks before his death.

During the interview, Wheeler addressed why he believes Rich’s death involves Wikileaks:

O’Connor: You have stated that you believe, again, an anonymous source at the FBI has corroborate this. That there was contact between Seth Rich and Wikileaks or somebody with Wikileaks, somewhere to the tune of 40,000 plus DNC emails. What led you to that conclusion Rod?

Wheeler: Right, good question. I have not seen the computer that belonged to Seth Rich. I can’t find it. He had two computers. The police department tells me they don’t know where it’s at. They said the FBI doesn’t have it. The family, not all of the family members but some of the family members, tell me don’t worry about the computer. Something is on that computer. I have not seen his computer. I have not seen the emails Larry but what I have done is I’ve listened to information that the Fox News Channel investigative journalists  received from an informant, a federal informant inside the case. And that person says that they specifically laid eyes on the emails. So, if you listen to what that person said and the fact that I’m getting so much of a run around only about the computer, it makes me come to the conclusion, there’s something on that computer that holds the key to what caused this man’s death.

Wheeler also addressed the motivation behind the FBI handling this case:

O’Connor: Why is the FBI involved? Why are the feds involved at all?

Wheeler: Well, that’s an excellent question. Let me tell you this and I’ll share this with your listeners. When I talked to the police detective I specifically asked, ‘what role did the FBI play in this investigation’. I was given a blank stare. Now your listeners can take that for what it’s worth.

O’Connor: I’m picturing a hardened homicide detective just giving you that blank stare Rod and obviously that means something like, ‘what do you think’.

Wheeler: Exactly. Because if the FBI weren’t involved they would say, ‘oh no no, the FBI is not involved’. Or vice versa, ‘yes they are involved’. What’s the big secret is what I’m getting at.

O’Connor inquired about the discrepancies between Wheeler’s findings and recent statements from Rich’s family:

O’Connor: Joel and Mary Ann Rich, they have issued a statement saying that they don’t believe that their son had anything to do with Wikileaks. They have not seen any of this. And as far as they are concerned, they are sticking with the current understanding that the D.C. Police have that this was a botched robbery. What’s your response to that?

Wheeler: Well I appreciate what they are saying..And I want to be clear here Larry, it could have been a botched robbery. Look in any case, especially a murder case, you can’t make any conclusions until you’ve got the bad guy behind bars.We don’t have the bad guy behind bars, the bad guy being the person that killed Seth Rich. So I appreciate what the family is saying. What I don’t think the family understands is that you can’t jump to conclusions and rule certain things out. And I think they’re being either A. Very protective protective of the legacy of Seth Rich. Which is good I understand that. B. Maybe they are being threatened. I don’t know. But in any event, to solve a murder case you have to look at every possibility. You can’t just say well it’s only this and this only. Does that make sense?

O’Connor: It does. It does.

O’Connor continued saying:

O’Connor: Let me ask you this,we see you on television a lot and we’ve had you on the radio often to talk about these things and I know that you’re a busy guy, are you doing this as a hobby? Or have you been employed by someone to investigate this?

Wheeler: Well, I’ve been employed by the family.

O’Connor: Wait, hold on. By the parents?

Wheeler: Yes.

O’Connor: Joel and Mary Ann. So Joel and Mary Ann hired you and they’ve now issued a statement basically saying they don’t agree with what you’ve been saying in the media.

Wheeler: You know, I appreciate what they’re saying. And I actually feel for them because I know that Joel and Mary are grieving but I have the contract. The contract is out there on Twitter actually. Someone else posted it today, it’s on Twitter. I do have the contract representing the family. The only dispute.. I mean they did not want me to talk to the media. My understanding and agreement with them is that I would not talk to the media and represent the family. So when I’m talking to the media, I’m just talking about the investigation. But I’m not representing.. This is not something the family is saying because I’ve been very clear. The family believes it was a botched robbery and they have every right to think that and who knows, maybe it was. We don’t know. But from an investigatory standpoint, I have to look again at every possible angle as to what this is.
