WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Two Virginia men have been charged in an apparent attack on police in D.C.’s Adams Morgan neighborhood Thursday night.

Two D.C. police bicycle officers and a DDOT traffic control aide were seriously injured when they were plowed down by a pickup truck.

The incident happened on 18th Street, NW, just before 9 pm. One of the officers is in critical but stable condition, while the other officer and the traffic aide were in fair condition with non-life threatening injuries.

After striking the victims at a high rate of speed, the truck apparently lost control and plowed into a dump truck.

Two people in the pickup truck – the driver and a passenger – were also taken to the hospital, and after questioning, now face numerous charges.

Dwayne Taylor, 23, was charged with possession of an unregistered firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm or destructive device. Brandon Lord Figures-Mormon, 22, was charged with assault with intent to kill, possession of an unregistered firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm or destructive device.
