Maryland Police Make Seven Additional Arrests In Statewide Drug Trafficking Bust

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAL) — In a cross-jurisdictional and multi-state drug investigation, Maryland police have made seven additional arrests, with more expected, as they continue to dismantle a drug trafficking organization, according to a Maryland State Police news release.

The drug trafficking organization is believed to be responsible for the distribution of heroin and fentanyl statewide, the release stated.

Two juveniles are included in the seven arrests. The other five are identified as: 36-year-old Sterling Nugen of Lusby, 32-year-old Richard Mattingly of Leonardtown, 24-year-old Bdonshee Wells of Annapolis, 18-year-old Keyo Fox of Glen Burnie and 28-year-old Rachel Keys of Severna Park.

“The investigation began in the fall of 2015 and was led by the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Narcotics unit in partnership with the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office. Information developed during the investigation indicates the arrestees were part of a drug trafficking operation supplying drugs, especially heroin and fentanyl throughout Anne Arundel County, Prince George’s County, Baltimore City and Baltimore County,” the release stated.

Homeland Security Investigations agents are providing assistance, alongside officers form Annapolis City Police Department and Anne Arundel County Police Department. Additional arrests and charges are expected.
