WASHINGTON (WMAL) — A bus driver in Prince William County had an unknown substance sprayed at him on Tuesday, resulting in minor injuries, according to police.

While driving near Minnieville Road and Prince William Parkway, the driver noticed a man running alongside the bus. Once the vehicle was stopped, the man started to bang on the door, demanding the door to be opened.

When the driver refused, the man stood in front of the bus, blocking its path. He then went back to the door, kicked out one of the lower windows on the door, and reached inside to open the door.

After getting on board, the suspect sprayed the driver with an unknown substance, giving him minor injuries. Soon after, the man fled the scene.

Prince William County Police dispatched a K9 unit to search for the suspect, but they could not find him.

The man is described as having dark skin, and is about 6 feet tall with short, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and pants.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the police at 703-792-7000.
