The bulk of accumulating snow was expected to remain south of the immediate metro area, according to the Capital Weather Gang. But flurries and a dusting inside the Beltway were still possible.

6am – B/C     An issue at the DC Health records office has left hundreds of babies without a social security number, hospital says.  (NBC 4) — According to Sibley Memorial, the issue affects more than 750 babies born at the hospital in the past two months. DC Health said the issue has affected all hospitals in the city. It’s not clear how many total families have been affected. “What normally takes about two weeks to get a Social Security card is now about two months,” Hunter said. Hunter says of all the things a new mom should be worried about, the potential identity theft or a infant isn’t one of them. “The fact that is hasn’t been resolved is still very annoying,” she said. The DC Department of Health said it notifies the Social Security Administration as a “courtesy” to new parents, but that parents can apply directly to the agency for Social Security numbers. DC Health also said the issue is not affecting distribution of birth certificates and other records. In a statement to News4 on Friday, the Social Security Administration said the following: “Together, Social Security and the DC’s Vital Records Office are diligently working to resolve the electronic transmissions of birth information to enumerate their newborns.”

Nationals owner Mark Lerner says he doesn’t expect Bryce Harper to return to Washington after telling the superstar outfielder that the team maxed out its offer at the end of the regular season.

8am – C         Chuck Todd Claims Trump Supporters ‘Want to Be Gullible.’ NBC News and MSNBC host Chuck Todd earlier this week blamed “gullible” voters for President Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. Todd, along with NBC colleagues Andrea Mitchell and Hallie Jackson, speaking on the Recode Decode podcast, attributed Trump’s win to his campaign’s “gaslighting,” or psychological manipulation, of voters and to the “unfair” media. “I knew the gaslighting was out there. I knew it was every day,” Todd said. “But I think there was part of me in my head assumed people were discerning it out, knew the BS from the non-BS. So, I think what my sort of shock to the system was just sort of how gullible a big chunk of the country was to this and gullible because maybe they want to be gullible.”

8am – D         TILLERSON VS TRUMP:

  • Tillerson sharply criticized his former boss, admitting publicly that Trump was a “pretty undisciplined” man who “doesn’t like to read” and often had to be reminded about the law
  • Tillerson: Trump “doesn’t like to read, doesn’t read briefing reports, doesn’t like to get into the details of a lot of things, but rather just kind of says, ‘This is what I believe.'”
  • Tillerson says Trump asked him to do illegal things. Trump calls Tillerson “dumb as a rock.”
  • Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump:  Mike Pompeo is doing a great job, I am very proud of him. His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn’t have the mental capacity needed. He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State!

8am – E         Kyler Murray apologizes for homophobic tweets that resurfaced after he won Heisman Trophy. (USA Today) — Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray had a Saturday to remember. But the Oklahoma quarterback’s memorable night also helped resurface social media’s memory of several homophobic tweets more than six years old.

When Murray was 15 years old, he tweeted at his friends (via his since-verified Twitter account) using an anti-gay slur to defame them. Four offensive tweets remained active on his account late Saturday night but were eventually deleted by Sunday morning — when Murray apologized for his insensitive language in a tweet.  Murray took accountability Sunday morning and said the “poor choice of word” doesn’t “reflect who I am or what I believe. I did not intend to single out any individual or group.” Murray, 21 now, joins several other famous athletes to find themselves thrust in a negative spotlight as a result of their old tweets resurfacing in the midst of big accomplishments. The Milwaukee Brewers’ Josh Hader had racist, homophobic and misogynistic tweets resurface from when he was 17 years old this past summer. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen saw racist tweets resurface from his teenage years ahead of the NFL draft. And Villanova Final Four Most Outstanding Player Donte DiVincenzo had a profane tweet with racist rap lyrics surface on the Internet right after he helped the Wildcats win a national title.
