WASHINGTON (WMAL) – A little more than two years after a couple was found shot in their Fairfax County home, the man was arrested and charged with murdering his wife.

Maj. Ed O’Carroll said when police arrived at the home on Okla Drive on Jan. 6, 2017 they found 51-year-old Donna Pentek shot to death. Her husband, 53-year-old Laszlo Pentek, was alive but had also been shot.

O’Carroll said nobody had broken into the home.

“We firmly believed as the investigation unfolded in the early stages that it was not an intruder, it was not an attacker from outside the immediate family,” O’Carroll said.

He added the evidence led them to believe Laszlo was the killer.

O’Carroll would not say whether Laszlo shot himself that day adding many of the details were being saved for the court case.
