WASHINGTON (WMAL) – He was supposed to be helping them, but instead police say a behavioral health specialist raped two mentally incapacitated women.

60-year-old Bernard Betts King was arrested earlier this week and charged with raping and impregnating a mentally incapacitated woman in 2018 while he was working as a behavioral health specialist at the MVLE Community Center in Springfield. Fairfax County Police say DNA confirmed the woman’s child was Betts-King’s.

Now he’s charged with raping another mentally incapacitated woman in 2017. Police do not say where that alleged rape occurred.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking for anyone with information to contact them.

Betts-King’s being held without bond at the Adult Detention Center.
