ROD ROSENSTEIN IS LEAVING THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT (The Daily Caller)

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein plans to leave the Justice Department in mid-March, agency officials told news outlets Monday.

A Justice Department official said that Rosenstein’s departure is not related to a controversy surrounding his alleged offer to wear a wire during conversations with President Donald Trump, according to CNN. Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe claimed in an interview that aired Sunday that Rosenstein broached the idea of wearing a wire to the White House in May 2017, days after James Comey was fired as FBI director. Gallup: Liberals take over Democratic Party, driven by ‘grand unifier’ Trump (Washington Examiner)

Liberals have taken over control of the Democratic Party, a drive to the left unseen in recent history that is in part spurred by the Trump presidency, according to a new survey.

Bernie Sanders announces 2020 run: “We’re gonna win” (CBS News)

Sen. Bernie Sanders, independent of Vermont, announced Tuesday he is launching a bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, hoping to reignite the ardent progressive support of his insurgent 2016 campaign.

“We’re gonna win,” he told “CBS This Morning” co-host John Dickerson. In his second run, Sanders is vowing to launch a grassroots movement that will “lay the groundwork for transforming the economic and political life of this country.”

He stressed that the chief priority for Democrats is to thwart President Trump’s reelection bid next year. “It is absolutely imperative that Donald Trump be defeated, because I think it is unacceptable and un-American, to be frank with you, that we have a president who is a pathological liar,” Sanders said during a wide-ranging interview in his home in Vermont. 16 states sue to stop Trump’s emergency declaration to build border wall (The Washington Times)

Sixteen Democrat-led states made good Monday on their threat to sue to stop President Trump’s emergency declaration to build his border wall, hoping to use the West Coast’s famously liberal courts to block him.

Led by California, the states said Mr. Trump’s move showed “flagrant disregard” for the Constitution by attempting to spend money after Congress had refused to grant him as much as he wanted for wall construction.

They argued they had standing to sue because, they figure, some of the money Mr. Trump had redirected would have been spent within their borders on other activities, making them uniquely harmed by his decision. [Read More]

Autopsy of a Dead Coup (American Greatness)

The illegal effort to destroy the 2016 Trump campaign by Hillary Clinton campaign’s use of funds to create, disseminate among court media, and then salt among high Obama administration officials, a fabricated, opposition smear dossier failed.

So has the second special prosecutor phase of the coup to abort the Trump presidency failed. There are many elements to what in time likely will become recognized as the greatest scandal in American political history, marking the first occasion in which U.S. government bureaucrats sought to overturn an election and to remove a sitting U.S. president.
