Felicity Huffman, 13 Others Plead Guilty in College Admissions Scandal (Reason)

The actress Felicity Huffman, accused of bribing SAT officials in order to improve her daughter’s chances of getting into an elite college, joined 13 other defendants in pleading guilty to all charges Monday.

“I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions,” said Huffman. “I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community. I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.” [Read More]

Lori Loughlin, Mossimo Giannulli indicted on new money laundering charges in college admissions scandal (FOX News)

Actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were indicted on fraud and money laundering charges Tuesday in the multimillion-dollar college admissions cheating scam that has ensnared dozens of wealthy parents trying to get their kids into the nation’s most prestigious colleges.

The “Fuller House” star and her husband, along with 14 other parents, were charged in Boston in a “second superseding indictment with conspiring to commit fraud and money laundering,” the Department of Justice said in a statement to Fox News. [Read More]

Court Ruling Implies That Barr Must Redact Grand-Jury Info from Mueller Report (National Review)

In disclosing the Mueller report, Attorney General William P. Barr will have to redact grand-jury information. That is the upshot of the ruling today by a divided panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

I flagged this case, now called McKeever v. Barr (formerly McKeever v. Sessions), last week. It did not arise out of the Mueller investigation, but it obviously has significant ramifications for the Mueller report — in particular, how much of it we will get to see. [Read More]
