Frederick, MD Man Accused of Spreading HIV to Unsuspecting Women

WASHINGTON– Police in Frederick, Md are looking for women who may have had sexual relations with 34 year old Rudolph Smith.

Smith, who is HIV positive, is accused of  knowingly spreading the virus to “multiple females” according to a statement from the police department.

“He was specifically going out and targeting women on dating sights and having intercourse with them,” said Sgt Andrew Alcorn.

Alcorn says an investigation has been underway for 21 months. In that time, police identified “multiple victims” and conducted a number of searches before handing the case off to a grand jury.

Smith is now facing four counts of First Degree Assault, four counts of Reckless Endangerment and 4 counts of Knowing Transfer of HIV Prohibited.

The Frederick Police department is looking to hear from women who may have had a sexual relationship with Mr. Smith around or after July 2017.
