Joe Biden says he’s running for president, in video announcing bid (CBS News)

Ending months of speculation, former Vice President Joe Biden announced Thursday he is launching his third presidential campaign.  Instantly joining the race as an early frontrunner, the former vice president and more than a dozen major Democratic candidates seek to deny President Trump a second term.

“We are in the battle for the soul of this nation,” he said in the nearly four-minute long video. “If we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation. And I cannot stand by and watch that happen.” [Read More]

Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation

Firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller was the youngest of seven children born to Mae and George Siller. At the age of eight, Stephen lost his father, and a year and a half later his mother passed away, leaving him an orphan to be raised by his older siblings. For a while Stephen went through a period of struggle, but thanks to the love of his siblings, and the values instilled in him by his parents, he grew up to be an extraordinary individual and dedicated firefighter. More than most, he knew that time was precious and accomplished much in his 34 years.

On September 11, 2001, Stephen, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1, had just finished his shift and was on his way to play golf with his brothers when he got word over his scanner of a plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Upon hearing the news, Stephen called his wife Sally and asked her to tell his brothers he would catch up with them later. He returned to Squad 1 to get his gear. [Read More]

25 Questions for Robert Mueller (American Greatness)

Much like the Steele dossier, the FISA application on Carter Page, and most of the news media’s coverage of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, the Mueller Report reads more like political propaganda aimed at harming Donald Trump than a sober collection of facts and evidence.

The 448-page document is filled with innuendo that has nothing to do with collusion (the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape is mentioned a few times for no apparent reason); it cites irrelevant articles planted by Trump foes as evidence, including this egregious National Review hit piece on Carter Page from April 2016; and it intentionally omits material facts, including key details about the Russian lobbyists involved in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting. How to Win at Taking Your Child to Work (The New York Times)

Thursday, April 25, is Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, a day meant to help kids imagine their future adult lives as full of professional possibility (as opposed to full of Google Docs and painful jargon like “solutioning”). This year will be the first time I take either of my children to work with me on the occasion. My older daughter, now 6, heard about the event last year and was miffed that I didn’t take her, even though at the time she was too young to attend. While I’m ambivalent about the whole thing, she’ll be coming with me to the office tomorrow. [Read More]
