25 Questions for Robert Mueller (American Greatness)

Much like the Steele dossier, the FISA application on Carter Page, and most of the news media’s coverage of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, the Mueller Report reads more like political propaganda aimed at harming Donald Trump than a sober collection of facts and evidence.

The 448-page document is filled with innuendo that has nothing to do with collusion (the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape is mentioned a few times for no apparent reason); it cites irrelevant articles planted by Trump foes as evidence, including this egregious National Review hit piece on Carter Page from April 2016; and it intentionally omits material facts, including key details about the Russian lobbyists involved in the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting. The Midwest’s broken blue wall (New Criterion)

Regardless of who wins the Democratic nomination for president one year from now, the party’s deep pockets already are prepping the groundwork to make sure that history—or herstory, if you will—does not repeat itself in 2020. The Democratic presidential candidate’s path to the White House doesn’t run along the Acela Corridor or the Pacific Coast Highway, but rather across Interstate 94 in the upper midsection of the country. Democrats learned this the hard way in 2016. [Read More]

What’s the matter with Virginia? (Washington Examiner)

Clare Perry considers herself a Democrat. Grayson Pearce is a Republican. She’s from Richmond, and he’s from Virginia Beach. Despite holding opposing political values, they both have the same question: What is the matter with Virginia?

In particular, what’s wrong with its politics?

A few months ago, in a cascade of disgraces both Gov. Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring admitted to wearing blackface, then Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax was accused of sexual assault by two women. [Read More]

Larry Kudlow fires back at Cory Booker’s claim Obama deserves credit for economic recovery (FOX News)

National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow denounced Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., Sunday after the 2020 White House candidate said President Trump was “taking credit for a recovery that started under [former President Barack] Obama.”

“What Mr. Booker and some others are saying is simply not true factually,” Kudlow told Fox News’ “America’s News HQ”.

Kudlow spoke two days after the publication of the April jobs report, which showed that the American economy added 263,000 jobs last month while the unemployment rate fell to 3.6 percent, the lowest since 1969. Despite the rosy numbers, Booker insisted that the boom’s effects were not being felt across all economic levels. [Read More]

Chinese delegation will come to the US for trade talks after Trump tariff threat (CNBC)

A Chinese delegation will come to the U.S. this week for trade talks after President Donald Trump upended negotiations by threatening new tariffs on Sunday, according to sources familiar with the matter.

One of the sources briefed on the status of talks said the Chinese would send a smaller delegation than the 100-person group originally planned. It is unclear whether Vice Premier Liu He would still helm this smaller group, an important detail if the team were traveling to Washington with an eye toward sealing a deal. Two senior administration officials described Liu as “the closer,” since he had been given authority to negotiate on President Xi Jinping’s behalf. [Read More]

Hundreds gather to voice opposition to I-270, Beltway widening plan (FOX 5 DC)

Hundreds gathered in Silver Spring Sunday to oppose a transportation project that would impact millions across our region: the widening of the Capital Beltway and Interstate 270 in Maryland.

Gov. Larry Hogan’s plan would impact over 70 miles of interstate and add toll lanes through a public-private partnership. He says changes are needed to reduce what he calls the “soul crushing congestion” that’s only expected to worsen in the future. [Read More]
