Hogan Unveils Funding And Initiatives To Fight Violent Crime

BALTIMORE – Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has announced a package of initiatives and funding to fight violent crime.

The Republican governor made the announcement Wednesday in his Baltimore office. It includes funding for 25 new prosecutors and support staff for the attorney general to fight violent crime. It also includes $21 million in added funding for the city of Baltimore and the state’s attorney’s office.

Hogan also is proposing tougher sentences for  violent offenders who commit crimes with guns. The governor also discussed a new strategy for reducing youth violence and stronger penalties for witness intimidation.
