Come forth ye huddled masses, come forth ye tailgater, couch sitters, well-wishers or Sunday afternoon prognosticator. If you are a Redskins fans who is sick of the insular and naferious ownership of the team by Dan Snyder, there is finally a website out their that can allow you to maybe make a difference.
29-year-old Charles Tomasch is a lifelong Redskin fan who after witnessing the Redskins losing a third game to a winless team in the form of the Kansas City Chiefs, decided to put pen to paper and start sellourteamdannyboy.com.
Tomasch goal is to collect 8,250 in donations so that he can buy ads on 10 metro busses encouraging Snyder to sell the team, (or at least not take such an active involvement in it) and so far at exactly 10:46AM on October 30th, he has collected $1,376 toward that goal. When you go to Tomasch's website, the call-to-action reads like a revolutionary style battle-hymn.
We need to send a clear message that Danny Boy’s interference with OUR team will not be tolerated. Danny Boy needs to step back hire a competent General Manager and stop meddling with OUR team. He needs to go away, either by selling OUR team or by disappearing and staying out of the operations. We urge every fan to stop buying licensed merchandise from Danny Boy. Until Danny Boy is no longer involved in operations, or better yet no longer the owner PLEASE DO NOT BUY TEAM MERCHANDISE from Danny Boy.
That anger my friends is real! People who write things in "caps lock" are super super serious, and on the point of not buying merchandise, Tomasch is resolute. As he told me yesterday, "If we all don't spend money thier, eventually he just owns concrete in the middle of Landover."
Can anything though come from this? Dan Snyder probably has a better chance of being Tom Cruise's special Scientology guru than he does off stepping within waking distance of a Metro bus stop in order to see one of Tomasch's ads. Still this fact doesn't stop our friend. "Do I believe that he's going to stay at a bus stop and see that ad go by? Probably not, however I have to believe the guy watches the news. If he really is a business person, I'd want to know everything negative about my business," said Tomasch.
Tomasch may be giving Snyder to much credit for his power of deductive ability, as our favorite owner was reportedly very very surprised to hear fans directing there anger at him. As for being a good businessman, has anyone heard from Six Flag's, on their stock option package? ..Didn't think so.
