A U.S. Senator has been arrested in Northern Virginia for suspected drunk driving.
Idaho Republican Michael Crapo ("KRAY-poh") says he is deeply sorry for his DUI arrest early yesterday in Alexandria.
Police say Crapo was initially pulled over for running a red light. Police say Senator Crapo then flunked field sobriety tests.
He's now charged with driving under the influence, and is free on $1,000 bond.
In a statement, Crapo apologizes to his family and constituents, saying he accepts total responsibility and will deal with the penalties.
