They stand at attention. Their uniforms tell stories of courage and commitment. They are members of the U.S. Military, prepared to risk their lives for our liberty. For that, we are forever grateful.
Normally it doesn’t take an entire month to say thank you, but this is anything but normal. In fact, when you are trying to thank all of the members of the military, whose limitless sacrifice allows us the freedoms we enjoy every day, one month may not be enough.
We have an awful lot of people to thank. From those who currently serve the red, white and blue at home and abroad to our treasured veterans, families and organizations who support our military effort.
To those for whom the scorching desert sun, the rough and rocky mountain terrain, the hallowed halls of the Pentagon, and the bedsides at Walter Reed Army Hospital have now become second homes – we thank you. You are all our heroes.
And while this is National Military Appreciation Month, ours is a local effort designed to recognize your friends and neighbors, whose daily sacrifice cannot and will not go unnoticed. On air, online, on demand and on the streets, you’ll meet those who serve and the families who love them. You’ll see images that help us understand what service really means.
Together, we salute the people who endure the most difficult conditions to ensure our freedom.
Take a look around our special National Military Appreciation Month section. It’s a life changing collection of tributes to our military, along with plenty of resource and support information. You’ll come away with clarity and perspective you will not soon forget.
Thank you, as you help us THANK OUR HEROES.
