WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer will join teammate Bryce Harper in the 2015 MLB All-Star game.
The right-hander earned his spot via the player vote. The All-Star rosters were announced Monday night on the “Esurance All-Star Selection Show” on ESPN.
Scherzer is currently 9-6 with a 1.82 ERA in his 16 starts this season.
He threw the second no-hitter in Nationals history on the June 20 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Scherzer maintained a perfect game until he hit batter Jose Tabata in the elbow with two outs in the ninth inning.
The 2015 All-Star game will take place on Tuesday, July 14 at the Great American Ball Park in Cinncinati.
