Obama Says he has not been in Contact with Hollande

President Barack Obama on Friday called the attacks in Paris an "outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians." "This is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share," Obama said from the White House briefing room.

WASHINGTON — (CNN) President Barack Obama said Friday he has not yet contacted French President Francois Hollande about the Paris terror attacks, saying the situation remained ongoing.

Speaking from the White House briefing room, the President also declined to speculate on who was responsible.

Obama, however, expressed his condolences to the French people.

“This is a heartbreaking situation and obviously those of us here in the United States know what it’s like and we’ve gone through these kinds of episodes ourselves,” Obama said.
