ANNAPOLIS, MD — (WMAL) Maryland Governor Larry announced today that Maryland emergency response teams are moving into recovery phase.

During the snowstorm, emergency personnel provided disaster relief in severe emergencies only.

Now they will be dispatched around the state to remove snow from roads and prepare public transit and facilities for opening later this week.

I-270 and I-70 are also open after the governor closed the highways last night to discourage people from driving.

According to the governor’s statement, “There are more than 700 soldiers and personnel and 212 vehicles standing by across Maryland and responding to request from across the state.”
