WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The Washington Auto Show hopes to open up at 12 p.m. noon on Tuesday. The show was originally scheduled to open last Friday but was postponed due to the weekend snowfall.

John O’Donnell, President of the Washington Auto Dealers Association, says he’s still waiting on the official okay from the auto show venue, the Washington Convention Center, and in-turn the city.

“We are waiting for confirmation from the building, who is talking to the city, that we will in fact be able to open up.”

The auto show has had to make some slight programming adjustments due to the delay. Ryan Zimmerman of the Washington Nationals was scheduled to make an appearance on Monday, but will instead do so one Tuesday. He says they will also have “Military Day” and “Student Day” on Tuesday if open.

“We’re anticipating that the general public is really going to enjoy what they see down here,” said O’Donnell. “We just want the doors open so they can come on in.”
