Multiple blizzard related deaths reported in Prince George’s County

HYATTSVILLE — (WMAL) Multiple deaths have been reported throughout Prince George’s County following the blizzard this past weekend, including an 84 year old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Orinda Nelson was reported missing from Hyattsville on Monday evening by her family, after wandering off from her home.

Police conducted a search of the area that night, and Ms. Nelson was discovered in a neighbor’s backyard the following morning.

Her death has been ruled to be a result of dementia, complicated by hypothermia.

Two additional deaths were reported as a result of the blizzard in Fort Washington.

A snow removal crew found a man in a parking lot on the 6300 block of Livingston Road on Monday, and a man died while shoveling snow at his home.
