5am – D         Hillary Email News:

  • Fox News’ Herridge: Hillary Email Withheld by ‘Law Enforcement’ May Show Intent. (Newsmax) — One of the two emails withheld from the final release of Hillary Clinton State Department emails was requested withheld by law enforcement and may show “intent,” Fox News Channel’s Catherine Herridge reported Monday. Clinton has said repeatedly that none of the emails she sent or received on the private server she used while in office were “marked ‘classified’ at the time.” But Herridge, Fox News’ chief intelligence correspondent, said Monday on “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” that she received a tip several months ago that at least one email clearly confirmed that the people sending the information to Clinton knew it was classified at the time. “I think it is striking that one email is being withheld at the request of law enforcement,” Herridge said, “because you know that would be a very important piece to the FBI investigation understanding the intent and whether the individuals knew or believed at the time that the information they were sending was classified.” The other email that was completely withheld was communication between Clinton and President Barack Obama, and may have been withheld because Obama invoked executive privilege, Herridge said.
  • Bryan Pagliano, Hillary Clinton worker, cooperating with FBI in email scandal. (Washington Times) – A former Hillary Clinton presidential-campaign worker, who took the Fifth Amendment before Congress over her email arrangement, is now reportedly cooperating with prosecutors. A senior U.S. law enforcement official told The Washington Post on condition of anonymity that Bryan Pagliano was working with the FBI and had been granted immunity. After working for Mrs. Clinton in the 2008 race, Mr. Pagliano set up the email server at her New York home. The FBI is investigating whether Mrs. Clinton’s email arrangement violated laws governing the handling of classified information. The FBI, Justice Department and Mr. Pagliano’s lawyer all declined to talk to the Post. But prominent legal scholar Jonathan Turley said the report, if true, is not good news for Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic presidential front-runner “DOJ does not give immunity without something valuable from a potential target like Bryan Pagliano. The situation just got more precarious,” tweeted Mr. Turley, a law professor at the George Washington University.

Northam, the likely Democratic nominee for governor in 2017, is urging U.S. officials to exclude Virginia from offshore drilling, putting him at odds with other top Democrats in the state on the issue. “Over the years, I have witnessed the demise of the Chesapeake Bay and decided to run for public office in large part to work towards its restoration,” said Northam, who grew up on the Eastern Shore and represented the area in the state Senate from 2008 to 2013. “Offshore drilling will not only put our environment at risk, but will also threaten some of the most important industries in Virginia — defense, agriculture and tourism.

6am – C         Ike Leggett proposes $11.5 million for bus rapid transit in Montgomery County. Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett (D) said Wednesday that he will propose $11.5 million in county funds to plan a bus rapid transit system to reduce traffic and help people reach jobs in the heavily congested Rockville Pike and Route 29 corridors. Meanwhile, Leggett said, he will recommend adding upgraded rush-hour bus service to Rockville Pike (Route 355) between the Medical Center Metro station and the Lakeforest Transit Center within two years. The specially branded buses would run in regular lanes — but have limited stops — provide real-time arrival information and have priority at traffic signals. He said he will also recommend money for express rush-hour Ride On bus service between Clarksburg and the Shady Grove Metro station, beginning in spring 2017.Leggett said the $11.5 million for the bus rapid transit (BRT) planning would come from the county’s six-year capital budget and would not require any tax increases. He said that might mean delays for other projects but that the county would keep costs down by improving bus service in stages and not buying any additional right-of-way to widen roads.
