WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Over two dozen people have been taken to area hospitals for minor injuries after their tour vans collided on US-29 at Musgrove Road.

One lane is getting by as first responders evaluate and transport the passengers. Drivers are advised to avoid the area due to heavy anticipated congestion.

Pete Piringer, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue’s chief spokesman, said that, as a precautionary measure, 23 juveniles and two adult chaperones had been transported to area hospitals.

The juveniles, who are between the ages of 12 and 14, are foreign students who were on their way to a college tour.
