FAIRFAX, VA — (WMAL) Virginia’s 11th Congressional District Republican Committee is actively working to secure support for the Trump campaign.

Donald Trump notched 33,000 votes in the Republican presidential primary in Fairfax County, falling second to Marco Rubio who won the primary with 53,000 votes.

The Republican Committee’s Paul Prado says that members of his group are working with Trump staffers to set up a base of operations in Fairfax County and find volunteers.

Prado says that “although there was a lot of initial resistance, most of them at this point are getting behind the nominee openly.”

In the past couple of election cycles some activists didn’t knock on as many doors or make phone calls on behalf of nominees they didn’t love, Prado, told WMAL, but they still turned out at the polls.
