Check Out The Latest Cover Of Sports Illustrated

RIO DE JANEIRO — (WMAL) This issue may be one to keep from the recycle bin.

The latest issue of Sports Illustrated will feature the biggest stars of Week One of the Rio Olympic Games.

Bethesda’s own Katie Ledecky, who picked up four gold and one silver medal for her victories in the swimming pool, posted the cover on her Facebook page on Tuesday. She posed with Simone Biles, the Women’s individual all-around gymnastics winner, and Baltimore native Michael Phelps, winner of 23 gold medals over the past five Olympic games, including four in Rio.

Biles, the first American gymnast to win three gold medals in one Olympics, may very well date the Sports Illustrated cover later on Tuesday. She is favored to win the floor exercise competition – her final event in Rio.
