Washington — (WMAL) The Fairfax County School Board has chosen Dr. Scott Brabrand as the finalist for the role of Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). His appointment will be finalized at a Board meeting on June 8, 2017.

Brabrand was selected as a finalist while still fulfilling his role as the Superintendent of the Lynchburg City Schools in Lynchburg, Virginia. However, Brabrand has worked for FCPS as an Assistant Superintendent, the principal of Fairfax High School, assistant principal, and even as a teacher.

Following his approval by the school board, Brabrand will start his four-year term in July.
