LEESBURG, VA — (WMAL) A car owned by a Virginia woman who had been missing along with two young boys since Friday was found flipped over and partially submerged in a creek Monday afternoon.

Courtney Ashe, 27, had last been seen leaving a family residence in Ashburn on Friday night with her five-year-old son, Cameron Martin, and her 9-year-old cousin, Jaylen. The three were reported missing on Sunday.

Law enforcement officials said Monday they did not suspect foul play in the case, and they set out on a search for the vehicle, suspecting Friday night’s storms may have played a role in the trio’s disappearance.

The car was found upside down in Sycolin Creek off of Evergreen Mills Rd in Leesburg at around 5:30 pm Monday, and three bodies were found inside. Their identities have yet to be officially confirmed by a medical examiner.

Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman says the car flipped over a guardrail and wound up under water, noting that the winding two-lane road on which the three were driving is “not a great road to navigate in normal conditions.”

The investigation is continuing.
