WASHINGTON  — (WMAL) Wednesday morning, Metro Transit Police Department announced the arrest of Wayne Anthony Dammons, after an incident with a minor on Monday afternoon aboard a train.

The Metro Transit Police press release details are below:

This morning, Metro Transit Police (MTPD) arrested Wayne Anthony Dammons, 26, of Southeast Washington, DC, on a felony charge of 2nd degree sexual offense in Maryland, following an incident that allegedly occurred Monday afternoon aboard a Red Line train.

The victim, a juvenile female, reported to police that she was riding aboard a Glenmont-bound Red Line train shortly before 4 p.m. Monday when she was approached by the suspect, later identified by police as DAMMONS, who sat next to her and asked for money. The suspect then began flirting with the victim and touching her in a sexual manner. Subsequently, the suspect exposed himself to the victim, prior to exiting the train at Glenmont Station.

The victim initially reported the incident to a trusted adult, who then notified MTPD. A warrant for DAMMONS’ arrest was obtained by MTPD detectives yesterday afternoon, and he was arrested this morning at a Metro station in Prince George’s County.
