WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Some Mega Millions tickets were sold in error in Virginia on Friday night.

“If you purchased a Mega Millions ticket on Friday, October 27 between 10:45 and 11:51 p.m., please read on,” reads a statement from the Virginia Lottery.

While the Virginia Lottery was updating its system, “a small number of Mega Millions tickets” were sold for the newly outdated version of the game.

For those who did purchase tickets on Friday night between 10:45 p.m. and 11:51 p.m., the Lottery asks that you call them at 804-692-7778 or to sign and fill out the information on the back of your lottery ticket and mail it to the Virginia Lottery (P.O. Box 2489, Richmond, VA 23218). The Virginia Lottery also encourages you to repurchase your ticket by Tuesday night, October 31 at 10:45.

The Virginia Lottery says to people who purchased tickets during that time period that “the price of the ticket and the price of a replacement ticket will be refunded to those players.” They also said that if you did win a prize with one of these outdated tickets, that the prize will be honored.
