WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Police have charged a man with three counts of human trafficking in Frederick, Maryland.

Officers say that the suspect, 39-year-old Abiathar Abraham Vance, “enticed [a] minor to engage in prostitution for him at an area hotel.”

The 16-year-old female victim was reported as a runaway from Prince George’s County, but police found her after responding to a possible abduction on Saturday afternoon. Officers later determined that she hadn’t been abducted.

Frederick Police said in a statement that Vance and the victim knew each other beforehand. Vance was arrested on Saturday, without incident.
