WASHINGTON (WMAL) — In preparation for the upcoming tourism season, Metro says they will not be conducting track work during certain events.

You won’t find any stations closed for scheduled work during the daytime hours on the weekends of the Cherry Blossom Festival. Metro also announced today that there will not be track work during the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon or Major League Baseball’s All Star Weekend.

A capital project that Metro had planned to work on in May has also been delayed.

General Manager Paul Wiedefeld added in the statement, “for many visitors, Metro is the best way to get to all the attractions.”

Metro released a list of times and events where there will be no scheduled track maintenance and a list of their upcoming capital projects, both of which can be found here.
