5am – A  INTERVIEW – RYAN ANDERSON – Senior Research Fellow for Religion and Civil Society at The Heritage Foundation and author of new book “When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment”  – discussed his book and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ new policy on transgender troops expected by Wednesday.

5am – B/C INTERVIEW – STEVE MOORE – Economist at The Heritage Foundation and served as an economic adviser to the Trump campaign – discussed fiscal conservatism and how Trumpnomics is different from Obamanomics.

5am – D Police officers guard home of deputy assigned to Florida HS who ‘never went in’ during shooting (Fox News) Deputy Scot Peterson, of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, was armed and stationed on the school’s campus when a suspect identified by authorities as Nikolas Cruz opened fire with an AR-15 rifle, leaving 17 people dead and others wounded. Peterson resigned Thursday after video surveillance showed he never entered the school, even though he “clearly” knew there was a shooting taking place, officials said. The revelation prompted widespread outrage

5am – E Do violent video games make kids violent? Trump thinks they could (USA Today) In the wake of last week’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., critics again pointed to violent video games as an instigator of real-life violence. President Trump on Thursday joined the chorus, warning about children’s exposure to violence in video games, movies and on the Internet. “We have to do something about maybe what they’re seeing and how they’re seeing it. … We may have to talk about that also,” he said in a meeting with state lawmakers on school security.

6am – A/B/C Trump suggests arming teachers as a solution to increase schoolsafety (CNN) What should step one be for President Trump in dealing with school shootings? President Donald Trump, after listening to a series of emotional stories and pleas to enhance school safety at the White House Wednesday, floated the idea of arming teachers and school staff, an idea that was met with support from many of the attendees. “If you had a teacher who was adept with the firearm, they could end the attack very quickly,” he said, stating that schools could arm up to 20% of their teachers to stop “maniacs” who may try and attack them. “This would be obviously only for people who were very adept at handling a gun, and it would be, it’s called concealed carry, where a teacher would have a concealed gun on them. They’d go for special training and they would be there and you would no longer have a gun-free zone,” Trump said. “Gun-free zone to a maniac — because they’re all cowards — a gun-free zone is ‘let’s go in and let’s attack because bullets aren’t coming back at us.’ ”

6am – D  NRA’s Loesch: I Wouldn’t Have Been Able To Exit CNN Town Hall If I Didn’t Have A Security Detail (Real Clear Politics) NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch said Thursday morning at CPAC that she wouldn’t have been able to exit last night’s town hall on the Parkland, Fla. school shooting if she didn’t have a security detail. Loesch faced off with students who survived the shooting at a CNN-hosted forum. “I had to have a security detail to get out,” she said of the Sunrise, Fla. event. “I wouldn’t be able to exit that if I didn’t have a private security detail. There were people rushing the stage and screaming burn her. And I came there to talk solutions and I still am going to continue that conversation on solutions as the NRA has been doing since before I was alive.”

6am – E/F  Student Claims CNN Rewrote Town Hall Question, Told Him to ‘Stick to the Script’ (Fox News Insider) A Florida student claims that CNN rewrote his question for the network’s Wednesday night town hall debate on gun violence. Colton Haab, a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were shot and killed last week, says he did not attend the event when he realized it would be a “total waste of [his] time.” CNN denies that it scripted questions for any of the participants at the town hall, which was attended by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch. On “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Thursday, Haab said he was contacted several days ago by a CNN producer who asked him to write a speech to deliver at the event, in addition to questions to ask.

7am – A INTERVIEW – CHARLIE SPIERING – White House Correspondent for Breitbart News – discussed the upcoming midterm elections and coverage at Breitbart.
