ASHBURN, VA — Well, that didn’t go well.

New Redskins Wide Receiver Paul Richardson, who signed a 5-year, $40 million contract with the team last month, was pulled over on an exit ramp on the Dulles Toll Road Tuesday afternoon, and issued a traffic summons for failing to have his vehicle properly registered.

But that was the least of the problem, according to Richardson. He claimed in a pair of tweets, which have since been deleted, that he was apparently racially profiled by the state trooper who pulled him over.

Virginia State Police say Richardson did not make a formal complaint about how he was treated, but officials say they will review the trooper’s dashcam video to help determine whether “the traffic stop was handled in accordance with state police policy.”

Richardson later again acknowledged the incident on his Twitter feed.
