Blogger Jana Schmieding was kicked off the “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” ride at Universal Studios because she wasn’t able to properly fit in the ride system’s seats. According to Schmieding, this was an act of “size-based discrimination” that aims to eliminate overweight people. Schmieding, who hosts a podcast called “Woman of Size” about the alleged discrimination against fat women’s bodies, said that her friend informed her that she was also kicked off of the ride because of her weight.  “Heads up. I was kicked off the Hogwarts ride because I didn’t fit. It was humiliating but they gave me front of the line passes to rest of the rides at Universal. Just be aware,” the friend wrote.

6am – B/C     STORMY NEWS:

  • Now Avenatti obtains Michael Cohen’s EMAILS and posts one showing how he still identified as Trump’s lawyer in April – despite Giuliani saying he no longer represented the President. (Daily Mail) — It’s inconvenient to lose your phone contacts – whether through an ordinary mishap or an FBI raid. When longtime Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen lost his, due to the later, he reached out to Keith Davidson, the former attorney to porn star Stormy Daniels, to get back in touch. Daniels’ current lawyer, Michael Avenatti, says the email directly rebuts the claim by Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani that ‘of course’ Cohen is no longer representing Trump. Avenatti further claims that the email to reestablish contact with Davidson – who helped negotiate a non-disclosure agreement between Cohen, Daniels, and Donald Trump – could show an effort to obstruct justice, though he doesn’t say how. Now Avenatti obtains Michael Cohen’s EMAILS and posts one showing how he still identified as Trump’s lawyer in April – despite Giuliani saying he no longer represented the President

Bei Bei, one of the Smithsonian National Zoo’s giant pandas, fell from a tree in his enclosure Thursday, his tumble captured on the zoo’s 24-7 “panda cam.” Fortunately, the boisterous 2-year-old wasn’t hurt in the incident. “Sometimes when #BeiBei goes out on a limb…it breaks. But he’s fine! Giant pandas are built to withstand falls, so he popped back up and climbed up again. #PandaStory,” the zoo tweeted Thursday.

6am – F         DC Metro Station Inspectors Plagiarized Reports While Concrete Was Falling From The Ceiling. (Daily Caller) – For three years, inspectors apparently copied and pasted inspection reports for an underground metro station in Washington, D.C., then a metal beam fell from the ceiling. No one was hurt in that incident, which occurred in the fall of 2016, but it was a wake up call for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to find out what went wrong. A report from the inspector general released Thursday reveals critical weaknesses in the inspection protocols for the primary public transportation system for the nation’s capitol. On Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 2016, corroded bolts caused pieces of concrete, lighting fixtures and a large steel beam fell from the ceiling of the Rhode Island Avenue metro station, forcing the station to close for a few days. That could have been prevented if it had procedures to inspect certain hard-to-see areas and ensured that inspection reports were actually conducted.  Over a three-year period, a total of 49 inspection reports contained identical language, leading the inspector general to conclude that “remarks are being copied and pasted from year to year, which makes it difficult to verify a new inspection was done.”

7am – E         ‘Sexuality Expert’ Says Babies Should ‘Give Consent’ to Diaper Changes (Breitbart) –  ‘Sexuality expert’ and author Deanne Carson has attracted mass ridicule after suggesting babies should “give consent” to having their nappies/diapers changed by their parents. Speaking to ABC News (Australia), Carson was asked what age clients she works with. She replied: “We work with children from three years old, we work with parents from birth”. “From birth?” the host responds, to which Carson smugly retorts:    “Yeah, just about how to set up a culture of consent in their homes. So, ‘I’m going to change your nappy now, is that ok?’ “Of course the baby isn’t going to respond, ‘Yes mum that’s awesome, I’d love to have my nappy changed’. But if you leave a space and wait for body language and wait to make eye contact then you’re letting that child know that their response matters”. Carson likely underestimated the response, however, of the internet, which has roundly mocked her and her “expertise” on the subject matter.

About half of all Americans now live under sanctuary policies that shield illegal immigrants from law enforcement, according to the latest tally of jurisdictions that the Federation for American Immigration Reform is releasing Thursday. FAIR calculates there were 564 states and municipalities that refuse some level of cooperation with federal immigration authorities as of April 1, up more than 200 since President Trump took office and up more than 500 compared with a decade ago. There were just 40 sanctuaries when President Obama took office. Entire states such as California, Illinois and New York are now sanctuaries, as well as major cities and counties such as Fairfax, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties and the District of Columbia in the capital region, according to the list.
