Unidentified Human Remains Found In Wooded Area In Virginia During Investigation For Missing Teen

NOKESVILLE, Va. – Police say human remains have been found in a wooded area in Virginia.

A Prince William County police media release posted on Facebook says detectives located the unidentified human remains in a wooded area in Nokesville on Tuesday, with the help of the FBI.

The wooded area was located near the 14800 block of Glenkirk Road, according to the release.

Police reported that the area was being surveyed by detectives regarding an ongoing investigation into a missing person’s case.

Police were not able to confirm the identity of the individual at this time due to the condition in which the remains were found.

The remains were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Manassas for further analysis to identify the person and determine their cause of death. An investigation is ongoing.
