FBI fires Peter Strzok, months after anti-Trump texts revealed (Fox News)

FBI official Peter Strzok, who played a lead role in both the Russian meddling and Hillary Clinton email probes but became a political lightning rod after the revelation of anti-Trump text messages, has been fired.

Strzok attorney Aitan Goelman said in a statement Monday that his client, a 21-year FBI veteran, was fired Friday afternoon, claiming this was a departure from standard practice and politically motivated. Goelman said bureau Deputy Director David Bowdich “overruled” the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility to remove him.

“This decision should be deeply troubling to all Americans,” the attorney said. [Read More]

Redskins and Jets brawl during joint practice, fans reportedly get in a fight of their own (CBS Sports)

It took less than one full day of joint practice for the Jets and Redskins to start brawling.

On Sunday, the first day of the teams’ joint practices ahead of Thursday’s preseason game, the Jets and Redskins got mixed up in a brawl that reporters in attendance described as “HUGE,” “SERIOUS,” and “crazy,” which reportedly led to fans getting into a fight of their own. According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, there were two — not just one — fights between the teams.

Omarosa claims to have secretly recorded Jared and Ivanka (Politico)

She says she’s got Javanka on tape, too.

Jilted ex-“Apprentice” star and former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman has told friends and associates that she has tapes of private phone calls from first daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, according to two sources with whom she has discussed the recording.

She claims her stash of recordings — which she is dribbling out to keep the publicity machine going around the release of her new book “Unhinged” — includes a condolence call she received from the couple the day after she was fired by chief of staff John Kelly last December. [Read More]

On Tuesday CNN again treated supposed Trump voters as lab rats to analyze their current attitudes towards the President. As Newsbusters’ Brad Wilmouth observed, CNN hinted that “Half of Trump Voters Regret Support for ‘Monster.'” However, since then it has been revealed that that supposed apple Trump voter calling the President a monster on the “facts first” CNN panel was actually a virulently anti-Trump socialist banana.

As Vincent James of the Red Elephants channel on YouTube revealed, those facts about the true political views of panelist Jeremy Montanez were easily available online but for CNN it seems that it’s really facts last if it comes to promoting their agenda of projecting disenchantment with President Donald Trump among his voters. MAGA vs. CNN: How Trump Supporters Debated Trump Regretters, Then Came Together Afterwards (Townhall)

Last month, Marco Gutierrez, leader of Latinos for Trump, contacted me about joining a focus group on CNN’s new morning show “New Day” with Alisyn Camerota. I survived the late-night pseudo-comedian Jimmy Kimmel earlier this year. Why not take on CNN next? I had always wanted to visit New York City and the network paid for all expenses. On August 5th, I flew in for a one-night visit to the Big Apple and stayed right across the street from the Time Warner building. [Read More]

2016 Trump Tower Meeting Looks Increasingly Like a Setup by Russian and Clinton Operatives (Real Clear Investigations)

The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between high-ranking members of the Republican presidential  campaign staff and a Russian lawyer with Kremlin ties remains the cornerstone of claims that Donald Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election.

A growing body of evidence, however, indicates that the meeting may have been a setup — part of a broad effort to tarnish the Trump campaign involving Hillary Clinton operatives employed by Kremlin-linked figures and Department of Justice officials. This view, that the real collusion may have taken place among those who arranged the meeting rather than the Trump officials who agreed to attend it, is supported by two disparate lines of evidence pulled together for the first time here: newly released records and a pattern of efforts to connect the Trump campaign to Russia. Rep. Keith Ellison denies abuse allegations from ex-girlfriend (CBS News)

Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison on Sunday denied an allegation from an ex-girlfriend that he had once dragged her off a bed while screaming obscenities at her — an allegation that came just days before a Tuesday primary in which the congressman is among several Democrats running for state attorney general.

The allegation first surfaced Saturday night from Karen Monahan after her son alleged in a Facebook post that he had seen hundreds of angry text messages from Ellison, some threatening his mother. He also wrote he had viewed a video in which Ellison dragged Monahan off the bed by her feet. Monahan, a Minneapolis political organizer, said via Twitter that what her son posted was “true.”

Ellison denied the allegation of physical abuse. A spokesman for his campaign also denied the congressman had sent threatening text messages. [Read More]
