DC Police Seeking Public Assistance in Returning Missing Pit Bull Puppy to Owner

WASHINGTON (WMAL)- A woman whose two pit bull puppies were stolen earlier this week has retrieved one of them, but D.C. police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the second puppy as well as the suspect who stole them.

Around noon on Monday, the woman was walking her puppies at the 5100 block of Southern Avenue, SE when the suspect approached her, brandished a gun and stole both of the two-month old male pit bull puppies, according to D.C. police.

The suspect then fled towards the 4500 block of Heath Street in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Police said the suspect is described as a five-foot-five black male with a dark complexion, aged between 20 and 30, weighing 130 to 135 pounds. He has short hair, a skinny build and was last seen wearing a black puffy coat, black knit cap and black sweatpants.

Anyone with information surrounding the armed suspect or the missing puppy is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.
