Mexican troops drew weapons on American soldiers on US side of the border (Washington Examiner)
Armed Mexican troops disarmed two United States soldiers while they were on the American side of the border, U.S. defense officials have said.
U.S. Northern Command said in a statement that “five to six Mexican military personnel questioned two U.S. Army soldiers who were conducting border support operations” this month. The FBI arrested the leader of an armed militia group that has become infamous for patrolling the U.S.-Mexico border and apprehending illegal migrants until Border Patrol officers arrive.
Larry Mitchell Hopkins was arrested on Saturday in Sunland Park, New Mexico, according to the FBI Albuquerque office. The 69-year-old, who is set to appear Monday in U.S. District Court, was charged for being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. [Read More]

Sri Lanka took drastic steps Monday to crack down on new potential terror threats by blocking social media and arresting more than a dozen after a series of suicide bombings allegedly carried out by a domestic radical Islamic group ripped through its capital on Easter Sunday.
The country’s health minister said the attacks, which killed at least 290 and injured more than 500, were carried out by seven suicide bombers from a local militant group named National Thowheek Jaamath. Experts cited by The New York Times said the group promotes an Islamic terrorist ideology. Police said 13 suspects in connection with the bombings have been arrested. [Read More]
