DC Police: Suspect Sought In Connection To Fatal Shooting Of Teen Near Nats Park

WASHINGTON (WMAL) – The Metropolitan Police Department released a surveillance camera image of a suspect on Thursday, who is wanted in connection to a fatal shooting of a teenager near Nationals Park.

According to police, the shooting occurred on Wednesday, October 9, in the 1300 block of Half Street, Southwest DC.

Police said they responded to the sound of gunshots in the area and found a teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services determined the victim was dead on the scene.

Police later identified the victim as 15 year-old Thomas Johnson, of Southeast, DC.

Metropolitan Police said they and the FBI Washington Field Office are offering a total $50,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the suspect.
