Trump claims Biden wants to ‘abolish the American way of life’ (FOX News)

President Trump and his campaign have been repeating a dire warning about the nation’s future should he not win reelection, claiming that Joe Biden would “abolish” the American way of life if he becomes president. Trump tweeted the message Wednesday, along with an accusation that Biden – along with left-wing radicals – are in favor of abolishing institutions, including police, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Second Amendment. Florida Republicans launch vote-by-mail campaign despite Trump’s criticism (The Washington Examiner)

Florida Democrats have requested 1.6 million mail-in ballots for August’s primary, outpacing Republicans by 400,000 requests and raising fears among state GOP leaders that President Donald Trump’s criticism of voting by mail could nullify an advantage the party has used to win tight elections across the battleground state.

In response, the Republican Party of Florida has been mass-mailing flyers to GOP and independent voters statewide, urging them to request mail-in ballots.

The flyer features the first two sentences of a June 28 tweet by Trump stating, “Absentee ballots are fine. A person has to go through a process to get and use them.” [Read More]

42% of MCPS parents say they would send children to in-person classes (Bethesda Beat)

Results of surveys about the Montgomery County school district’s approach to fall classes show a divide between parents’ and teachers’ preferences as the COVID-19 pandemic rages across the United States.

The results, shared during a school board meeting on Tuesday, showed that 42% of parents who responded plan to have their children participate in face-to-face learning. Another 22% said they plan to have their children in virtual-only lessons and 35% were undecided. [Read More]
