WASHINGTON (WMAL) – Alex Trebek, the longtime host of “Jeopardy!,” gave fans a health update Thursday on his battle against stage IV pancreatic cancer.

In a YouTube video posted on the “Jeopardy!” channel, Trebek, 79, said his treatment is going well.

“I am doing well,” Trebek said in a YouTube video. “I have been continuing my treatment and it is paying off, though it does fatigue me a great deal. My numbers are good. I am feeling great.”

Trebek also announced that the network will soon begin to air special episodes of “Jeopardy!,” that will feature archived footage from the show.

“For the first time ever, we’re going to open the ‘Jeopardy’ vaults and take another look at some of our favorite episodes, including the very first ‘Jeopardy’ show I ever hosted, mustache and all,” Trebek said.

Trebek also said he’s looking forward to returning to the studio.

“Once again, I can’t wait to return to the studio and start recording shows for the new season in September,” Trebek said in the video. “Meanwhile, I wish for all of you, stay safe.”
