Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick joined the University of Michigan’s pro-day over the weekend, where he threw to undrafted wide receivers in front of NFL scouts.
- Setting-the-stage: after a departure from the NFL more than 5 years ago following his decision to kneel for the National Anthem the scorned quarterback has been unable to find his way on to an NFL roster as a starter or back-up. He claims to have stayed ready should a team want to bring him into their locker room.
- Kaepernick criticized the league that he so badly wants to return to. @DelanoSquires on Twitter pointed out: Why would you be fighting so hard to get back into a league you claim is run like a plantation, @Kaepernick7? Do you really prefer the NFL’s oppression to the freedom you have to promote prison abolition as an activist?
- What Kaepernick said about the NFL: “But let me tell you, what they don’t want you to understand, is what’s established is a power dynamic,” Kaepernick claimed in his Netflix documentary ‘Colin in Black & White’. “Before they put you on the field, teams poke, prod, and examine you searching for any defect that might affect your performance. No boundary respected. No dignity left intact.”
