Man arrested for killing Baltimore tech CEO, leaders provide update

32-year-old Jason Billingsley is charged with murdering 26-year-old EcoMap Technologies CEO Pava LaPere whose body was found in her apartment on Monday.

After an intensive manhunt police found him late Wednesday night at a train station in Bowie.

Baltimore Police held a press conference Thursday morning announcing the arrest.

“It’s heartbreaking that she’s no longer here with us especially at the hands of someone… who should not be on the streets in the first place,” Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott said in the press conference.

Billingsley was also charged with attempted murder, rape and arson in connection with a separate incident the week prior. All of this came after he was released from prison last fall after serving eight years of a 30 year sentence after pleading guilty to a sex offense.
