Orioles pitcher Dean Kremer will start Game 3 with Israeli family “in the back of his mind”

The Baltimore Orioles are facing elimination in the World Series playoffs as they trail the Texas Rangers 0-2 going into the third game tonight.

All eyes will be on the Orioles’ pitcher, Dean Kremer, who was selected to pitch the knockout game.

The Israeli-American dual citizen, 27, was born in California but lives in Israel two months of the year. He even pitched for the Israeli team in the World Baseball Classic in 2017 and 2023.

Now, as he gears up for the big game, Kremer said that his family in Israel will “be in the back of [his] head.”

“I mean obviously it’s a very sad situation. A lot of things are being brought to light,” Kremer said in a press conference Monday.

Kremer said that his family is okay right now while they are still in Israel, which has faced multiple attacks for days by Hamas, a militant group in Palestine.

As for how he’s approaching the big game, “I just try to treat it like every other start. That’s what I’m planning on doing,” Kremer said in a press conference.

If the Orioles win tonight they still have a shot at the World Series title, which they haven’t won since 1983.
