Patrick Wojahn, former mayor of College Park, Md., was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to 140 child pornography-related charges.

Wojahn was arrested in March and shortly after resigned from his mayoral position which he served for seven years.

The charges include 60 counts of distribution of child pornography, 40 counts of possession of child pornography and another 40 counts of possessing child pornography with the intent to distribute the material.

Before his arrest, authorities from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off police to investigate Wojahn. The tip accused the former mayor of uploading and sharing dozens of videos of child pornography through the social media app Kik.
