Today would have been Elvis Presley's 80th Birthday.

The King of rock and roll was born January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. He died of a drug overdose in August of 1977, but continues to be one of the best-selling musicians of all time.

During his life, Elvis sold millions of albums and starred in over 30 movies.

Fans are celebrating with a multi-day birthday party at Elvis' Memphis mansion Graceland where he died. Priscilla Presley, who was married to Elvis, and their daughter Lisa Marie, joined the fans to cut the birthday cut and sing "Happy Birthday."

The event also includes screenings of Elvis' movies and an auction of artifacts such as his first driver's license and his first recording, "My Happiness."
