On Monday, Governor Glenn Youngkin amended legislation that would force the Loudoun County School Board elections to take place a year earlier than previously scheduled. The amendment came as part of a busy day for the governor, as he signed into law more than 700 pieces of legislation and vetoed 25 and amended an additional 114 bills. The Office of Governor Glenn Youngkin announced on Friday that he had signed a bill that will force the state’s Department of Education to develop policies to ensure parents in the Commonwealth are notified when sexually explicit materials are included in a classroom’s curriculum. The Office of Attorney General Miyares has secured thousands of dollars for Virginians through a settlement with Lovettsville-based Wheeler & Wheeler Inc. d/b/a West End Motors for alleged significant price increases on gasoline, a necessary good, after a state of emergency was declared on May 11, 2021 in response to the temporary shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline. The Colonial Pipeline supplies gas to many East Coast states.Read more
